 This course aims to teach you how to analyse television, video, film, radio, newspapers, magazines, comics, photography, the music business, advertising, language, conventions, producers and audiences. 
 
You will work on a number of projects and will produce a folder of coursework. The course will respond to issues of interest in the media, but you can expect to study some of the following topics:

          Image analysis
          Stereotyping/representation
          Genre/style
          News values and news production
          Audience
          New technology

In Year 11 you will take part in a practical production. You will have the opportunity to sustain a chosen study from your first ideas, through research and planning to a finished media product. Together with this production you will need to write a supporting account which records your research, planning and evaluation of the process.
